Teen Driving Course Enrollment Requirements

Eligibility:

• Age: Students must be between 14 years and 9 months (90 days from 15th birthday) and 17 years old, and in 8th grade or higher.
• TIP Card: Students must have a valid Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP Card) issued by the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV). Enrollment will not be allowed without this card. R.S. 32:402.1
• Parent Meeting: The primary parent/legal guardian must attend a Parent Meeting. The student does not attend this meeting.
• Louisiana Administrative Code - Title 55

Documents to Bring to the Parent Meeting:

• Student's TIP Card. What is a TIP Card? Click/Tap Here
• Original Birth Certificate (no photocopies accepted)
• Custody Documents (if applicable)
• Primary Parent/Legal Guardian's ID (address must match the one on the TIP card)

Important Information:

• The OMV Knowledge Test is now conducted on a tablet. (paper test are no longer permitted)
• AUX plug-in headphones may be used for the test, but wireless headphones are not allowed.
